Our High Dependency Unit is located within ward 29. Here we can monitor children who require closer observation, treatment and nursing care, often using more specialist equipment. The nursing staff who work in this area are very experienced and have additional skills in looking after unwell children.
Facilities for parents and adult carers within HDU are provided in the Poppy Suite. It is not possible for parents to sleep overnight in the high dependency unit due to the high level of care patients require and limited space.
