Specialty Description

The Dundee Macmillan Welfare Benefits Service offers a free confidential service to individuals living with cancer, their families and carers. It provides help with Welfare Benefit entitlements, information on entitlement and help to complete benefit forms. It also provides access to the Macmillan Grant Scheme for one off costs associated with the additional costs of living with a cancer diagnosis. Additionally the service can help with money and debt advice options as well as energy advice through other linked services within Council Advice Services. The service can be contacted directly via email as well as through various Ninewells secondary care locations as listed in the link below.

Individuals living with cancer, their families and carers

Who not to refer

Anyone living outwith Dundee. Similar services exist in Angus, Fife and Perth and Kinross Council areas. We can provide initial help to those customers but will pass to our colleagues in the other Council Areas for ongoing support.

How to refer

GPs can email macmillan.advice@dundeecity.gov.uk with details of the help required and the customer’s name, address and contact details or telephone: 01382 431183/01382 431103 Monday to Friday 9.30am-4.30pm.

Patients can also self refer at any time to Macmillan (see link below for more information)
