Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is an approach to behaviour change that utilises the routine interactions we have with people to encourage changes in behaviour that have a positive effect on their health and wellbeing. It enables the delivery of consistent and concise health and wellbeing information and encourages individuals to engage in conversations about their health at scale across the organisation.
A MECC interaction takes a matter of minutes and is not intended to add to the already busy workload of staff, rather it is structured to fit in and complement existing approaches. Evidence suggests that the broad adoption of MECC can have a significant impact on the health of the population.
On these MECC pages there is information to support you to raise awareness, motivate and signpost people to help them improve their health and wellbeing. There is a range of signposting information for health improvement and wellbeing, including self-care and local and national support services.
