Before your visit

Prior to your admission date, a member of the team will be in touch 1-3 days prior to your admission - at this time you will be given fasting instructions and you will be informed of an exact time to come to the ward. Our staff will happily answer any questions you may have.

What should I bring?

Slippers and pyjamas or loose fitting clothing

Favourite teddy or comforter

Any favourite foods or drinks or any special dietary requirements

Nappies and baby food

Any medication your child takes regularly

Can I stay with my child?

A maximum of two parents / guardians can be at the bedside during your hospital stay. The team will update you with further details during your pre-admission phone call.

Should your child require an overnight stay

Although most of the children are discharged home on the same day, some children do require an overnight stay. If this is required you and your child will be transferred from the day case surgical unit in the evening to spend the night in Ward 29 (Children's Ward) where one parent / carer can stay overnight alongside your child.
