Former Murray Royal Hospital Site Public Consultation

Murray Royal Hospital old main building
The new £75 million development at Murray Royal Hospital provides state-of-the-art mental health facilities for adult and older inpatients, outpatients and day patients from across Tayside and replaces the previous 19th century buildings on the existing Murray Royal Hospital site.

The remaining land and buildings are no longer required by NHS Tayside which has a duty to dispose of any properties within its ownership which are declared surplus.

NHS Tayside appointed a firm to act as ‘masterplanners’ to consult on and consider plans for two areas of the former hospital site in Perth that NHS Tayside has declared surplus to future requirements, including a request for additional green space within an agreed area to provide an additional amenity site for patients and visitors at the new hospital.

The masterplanner will consider all aspects before formulating the final masterplan and several meetings, engagement events and contact with key and statutory stakeholders including Perth and Kinross Council, Historic Scotland, Bridgend, Gannochy and Kinnoull Community Council, and Perth Left Bank Development Trust have taken place.

Following this consultation period a draft masterplan has now been produced and the Murray Royal site is currently being marketed for sale. Former site marketing brochure available here.
