Groups at the YPU

At the young people's unit we run a variety of therapeutic groups. Groups will be part of your treatment at the YPU. Staff will speak to you about which ones would best meet your needs and how to best support you to attend.

The timetable is reviewed regularly. Some groups are also run in blocks, meaning they may not be on all of the time. More details on the groups can be found below.

Planning Group

Planning group is a group run by nursing staff. The group runs in the morning and the aim of this is for young people to find out what their own individual timetable is for the day. This may include groups that are on, appointments and school times. Young people are encouraged to attend planning group as this allows them to have a plan for the day and know what to expect.
