Induction

Foundation doctors have shadowing/ organisational induction period which takes place prior starting their FY1 post on the first Wednesday of August.  Details will be shared with incoming trainees ahead of each induction.  The shadowing/induction period includes lectures and workshops on a number of topics to support new FY1 doctors in their first placements as well as dedicated time to shadow in their wards/clinical areas ahead of the changeover date.  In addition all doctors will receive a local induction by their clinical service covering the specialty/ward specific elements of their role.

Higher (Core/GPST/ST) resident doctors will have an induction event as part of the February and August changeover dates.  This involves a half day lecture event in Ninewells Hospital.  This will cover a number of topics to support resident doctors who are new to NHS Tayside.  

New doctors should contact the IT helpdesk on 70444 on their first day to receive their IT login details.  

In addition all doctors will receive a local induction by their clinical service covering the specialty/ward specific elements of their role.
