Who are Healios?

Healios Autism and ADHD Service provides specialist assessments for neurodiverse children and young people.

Why might a child or young person referred to CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Pathway be offered an assessment by Healios?

We have commissioned Healios to run an online assessment pathway within our neurodevelopmental service in CAMHS. This will be a rolling programme over the next few years. This is following the work Healios undertook with Tayside CAMHS mental health cases in 2019 and a very successful pilot project with Neurodevelopmental cases at the end of 2020.

We are selecting children with relatively straightforward assessment needs and offering families the option of an online assessment with Healios. The pilot project showed that all the families rated their experience with Healios very highly, the outcomes were as we would have expected if seen in CAMHS.. The average time to completed assessment with Healios was 10 weeks. If families choose not to go with Healios they will still be seen in CAMHS. If families need to return for follow up (e.g. medication) they will be seen by CAMHS.

Healios are only seeing children who need ADHD/ASD assessments, where there are no concerns about genetics / Intellectual Disability / other complex issues.
