Local Help and Support

Here's our guide to local support, because sometimes when you're having a difficult time,  a bit of support, someone to talk to and getting out and doing something (especially when you don't feel like it), is just what you need.

The Corner

The Corner is a confidential health and wellbeing service for young people aged 11-19 (and up to 25 if vulnerable). The Corner is located at 13 Shore Terrace, Dundee, on the corner of Castle and Exchange Street, across from Slessor gardens in Dundee’s city centre.

The Corner offers a wide range of services including sexual health, emotional health, counselling and crisis support. They also support young people experiencing exam pressures, bullying, body changes, relationship concerns and more. Their drop-in at 13 Shore Terrace is a safe and welcoming space where their experienced team of staff offer young people confidential support.

They are currently running by appointment only and you can book a telephone appointment directly on their website to discuss your concerns:

During each telephone appointment, a member of The Corner staff will ask you a few questions and discuss all of your options with you. They will then advise you on next steps and explain everything clearly.

Feeling Strong

"Feeling Strong is an exciting Dundee-based charity with the ambition to improve the lives of young people living with mental health and wellbeing challenges by fostering the skills, confidence and aspirations they need to flourish. We believe strongly that our services should be designed by young people, delivered by young people for the benefit of young people. We want to use skills development, mentoring and confidence building to promote positive outcomes for young people, tackling the disparity they face in unemployment, underemployment and accessing opportunities like further and higher education.

We are a promising, high-momentum start-up, having received seed funding and secured further project funding to deliver three projects on behalf of young people with mental health challenges in Dundee. We have two more projects ready to start pending funding. We were founded early in 2018 by our Project Director Brook Marshall, and since have been joined by a dedicated team of experienced Trustees and enthusiastic Volunteers whom you can read about here."
