Learning Disability Nutrition and Dietetics
About Us

What we do

The adult learning disability dietetic service is a small team of dietitians and a health improvement practitioner providing care across Tayside. We offer a holistic, person-centered service, providing support to adults with a learning disability, and their carers. We aim to empower them to make appropriate dietary choices, to help reduce health inequalities and minimise the need for costly medical interventions.

Within this specialist service, dietitians use the science of nutrition to devise personalised eating plans for adults with a learning disability, as part of the treatment of their medical condition. Dietitians use evidence-based practice and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
