Patient Hub

NHS Tayside is transforming the way in which we communicate with patients to give you greater control over your outpatient appointments. To do this we are implementing a new digital service called Patient Hub.

What is Patient Hub?

Patient Hub is a secure online patient engagement portal providing digital communication between NHS Tayside and our patients. Patient Hub offers digital access to Outpatient letters and appointments and waiting list validation.
Once fully operational across NHS Tayside, Patient Hub will provide you with details about your hospital appointments and the ability to send information relevant to your care.

Other benefits of Patient Hub:

  • Less paper: Paper appointment letters are easily mislaid, which sometimes leads to patients arriving for appointments at the wrong time or even missing their appointments.
  • Instant digital information: You will find it a clear and simple way to receive and respond to NHS Tayside about waiting list validation or appointments and letters.
  • Easy and fast: Respond quickly to any waiting list query, or rebook or cancel an appointment. It is a convenient way to let NHS Tayside instantly know by logging in using any device, such as your phone or on your laptop.
  • All your appointments and letters in one place. It is convenient to quickly see all your appointments clearly listed in one place; everything is on your phone or on your laptop.
  • Online, the way many prefer: It is fast, convenient and 24/7, you can access your letters and appointment information as and when it suits you. You can also add your appointment directly into your digital calendar.
  • Improved accessibility: Screen readers/text-to-speech technology can make appointment information more accessible, including for patients who are visually or hearing-impaired. Other patients report feeling that they have regained control of their health information.
  • Environmentally conscious: Like you, NHS Tayside cares about the environment; going digital will save paper (several trees every month) and postage costs.
  • No patient left behind: People will still get letters if they cannot or do not wish to use digital. After a given time, patients who have not logged in to the system are sent a paper letter.
